Astronomy from the skies of Caracas, Venezuela. |
My name is Marcelo Saavedra, welcome to Caracas Astronomica Webpages. Astronomy is from my 11 years one of my favorite hobbies. My first telescope was a Japanese Tasco refractor; nothing to do with the present-day Tasco telescopes. |
Completely constructed in metal (Aluminum) and with crystal optic, these little telescopes came with all the necessary starting accesories, being a relatively good option to begin into Astronomy. |
Nowadays, the skies of Caracas are very polluted due to the metropolitan lights. This make that Astronomy not be all the comfortable, spectacular and entertained that should be. However, thanks to the advances on CCD technology and the computerized telescopes developed from 1997 make |

possible, with some effort, accomplishing some observations and photos in skies of these characteristic. |
With these pages I want to transfer my experience to you in order to help and motivate to go forward in this passionate hobby. On them, you will find some attempts on astrophotography from Caracas, some technical aspects, the modest equipment description that I’m using and some useful applications. |
In this way my desire is to contribute, divulge and serve as a contact point for the development of Venezuelan amateur observational groups. |

I hope you find these pages very useful and entertained. |
